This article in Scientific Americans state that "[s]cientists from Ohio State University report that marijuana, contrary to the conventional wisdom, may help ward off Alzheimer's and keep recall sharp."
I haven't checked the site yet, but it seems very new age; this article claims they have found a variety of healing frequenzies facilitating change and undoing situations, liberating guilt and fear, "Transformation and Miracles (DNA repair)", connecting and relationships, awakening your intuition and returning to spiritual order.
You can play the tracks from the site, and I imagine your life will be the better for it; if nothing else then atleast because of the psycological proseces and placebo effects involved in choosing and clicking that play button.
Like the arabs say: Inzh Allah! - If God wills it.
When I first got Spotify I was comletely in love with the system; but I have slowly fallen out of love to the point where I have almost stopped using the program. Economicly they are living on the edge, and the smaller record labels and 'normal' musical stars make very little money. Rumors speak of payments less than a dollar a month for their whole catalouges, which makes it impossible for the small-guys to make money on this; thus only making it a good deal for touring bands (making their money on spectators and merchandise).
Now, interestigly, they have hired one of the piratebay judges as a 'product developer' or somesuch: waving the banner of the fossile music industry. If you deal with the devil et cetera...
Spotify's basic package is free if you get an invite (or live in Sweden); and you get to choose from an amazing library of music lacking only a few of the great ones like Bob Dylan or Pink Floyd.
Spotify is sadly using an extreemly stoopid technique to push folks into the payment program where you pay 1€/24 hours (good for dinnerparties and such) or 10€/30 days for an ad free-musical experience. By playing annoying Spotify infomercials they aparently hope to be annoying enough that I will pay 10€ a month for the full product; not realizing I simply plug my external hard-drive back in and listen to my extensive collection of CDs I used hundreds of hours ripping.
Why is this stupid? Because now only stupid people will buy commercial spots on Spotify; who wants their product connected to annoying? Once they, or their competitors, realize they infact are a radiostation 2.0; where the listeners make the playlists: they will surley make more money on the unpaying customers than the paying ones.
How do you know your product is good enough? When paying customers demand the possibility to listen to the free-version if they feel like it; 'Spotify Radio' has reached its minimum benchmark.
Kristen Opstad is a 31 years old Norwegian artist currently working in Paris with fellow artist Roald Sivertsen, supported by the Ingrid Lindbäck Landgaard-foundation. She was featured in Dagbladet as the monthly winner on their(?) poetry-site "diktkammeret" - 'the poetry chamber'. Aparently she won the prize simply by fooling around with form and words, learning the rudiments of the craft as she went along. Impressive.
Lo! & Behold; pretty as only the rising star can be.
She has also played/experimented with using several different online-identities like Pia Maria, Heidi P, Madame K, Kirsten, ko, esther, Dorthea, Miriam F, Mette G, camilla, magda and Pål.While I never personally would be any other than the person I happen to be - I am sure she would either love or hate my man Thom-Thom Billkowfskij's work.
She shows great promise, but she still lack that umph, that something that'd make you wanna put her stuff over your fireplace. Im sure you see what I mean? Nice like, but it's not gonna change my perspective.
Shomakers Adidas and Puma make peace after 60 years of animousity. The Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik - Brothers Dassler Shoefactory - was started in Herzongenaurach, Bayern in 1924. They had great success making sports-shoes, but during the war the brothers drifted apart and in 1947 they divided the company and big-brother Rudolf created Puma while younger brother Adi created Adidas. What the quarrel was about I havent been able to find out, but for sure it must have been a mix of love/sex, religion, politics and money. What else could tear apart brothers?
The clean slate will be celebrated by a footballmatch. The whole thing was organized by Peace one day, a organization promoting peace/ceasefire 21 of september (today) every year.
A picturesearch yielded quite a lot of pictures of NIKE's. I guess someone is doing their job. But Puma and Adidas will always be the second generation original sneakers no matter what advertising muscles NIKE is showing.
In the comics of my childhood the Meanwhile elsewhere...-caption signaled the action was removed somewhere completely different, somewhere either very dramatic or tranquil depending on wheter the main storyline needs a cooldown or some POW!!!
While “Meanwhile” is pretty selfexplanatory it was seldom explained exactly where “Elsewhere” could be found. As years passed this “place” this “Meanwhile Elsewhere” took on almost metaphysical properties. Becoming not simply a somewhat outstreched point in time and space in a imaginary world but a place in it self. Like Heaven, Hell, Nirvana and Middle Earth and the Marvel Universe.
I often get that meanwhile elsewhere...-feeling when I observe the private moments of other peoples lives, be it RL or simply L ;) A blog is a ever changing piece [of words, pictures, sounds and movies] until the day blog is finally left by its author(s), and only then can you make some kind of jugdement of what it is. Was it a record of our past, a fanzine, a piece of art et cetera or simply a glimmer of something to disapear with the url:// even before it could be archived somewhere. .
Artisticly I have the ambition of this blog of becoming one of the readers doors into that fabled Meanwhile Elsewhere... Something private, without becoming social pornography. Something different, without becoming alien. Something well known, but not your own life. Most of all I simply want to get to know this (in littereary time) newborn medium; explore its possiblities and have some fun while doing it.
While I read all comments, I only publish the ones that would be atleast remotly interesting to other readers. Im moody and might not always give a “proper” reply to comments, even though I try, if nothing else so to encourage comments from trolls and friends everywhere. A good blog always has a comments-field with a life of its own, and do I hope to get one (maybe for christmas?).
I would also, at this time, like to thank Anonymous for his many insightfull comments. This blog would not be the same without you :)
